"Annie" came to live with us in 2004. As with most of our cars, her name comes from her number plate. She's an extremely modified Marcos Mantula. Her previous owner did all the bodywork modifications and played around with her engine to try to maximise power. Inevitably the engine quickly 'gave up' and he decided to put her up for sale. Mark has done a lot of mechanical work on her since but we've always kept the exterior styling. She's unique - even in the quirky world of Marcos cars - and tends to attract quite a lot of attention at events.
We've taken her to Le Mans. With some careful packing, we managed to fit in a tent, sleeping bags and enough 'stuff' for four nights in the boot and passenger foot well. We have also slept in her. On the same trip we also took her to over 135 mph on the Mulsanne straight!
We take her to alot of charity events and use her for fund-raising activities. In May 2011 Sir Stirling Moss drove her to raise money for charity at Prescott Hill Climb. He signed the inside of her glove box..
If you see this car, we will never be very far away!
