"The Kitten"

Mark built "The Kitten" from scratch.  Basically I didn't want to spend another winter listening to the sound track of Medal of Honour from the Playstation, so I suggested that Mark found 'a project'.  I didn't realise that a complete design from the wheels up was going to be so much more time-consuming than a restoration.  This car has taken just under three years to build and was road-taxed for the first time in Autumn 2011.

We called the car "The Kitten" very early in the project and the name has stuck.  It came from the fact that I had two hopeless trainees at work at the time.  To stop myself from committing murder I called them "The Kittens" - ie "Loads of trouble, characters as yet unformed"!  Mark felt that this suited the project too.

A lot of the car is recycled!  We collected bits of other cars from all over the country over the winter of 2008/2009.  There are parts from 10 different cars, plus specialist racing components from various parts of the world. Mark then spent hours doing all the calculations that made everything fit together; designing the wiring; sorting wheel ratios and so on..  I swapped despressing Playstation music for obsessive monologues!

Seriously, I am tremendously proud of Mark's achievement.  His only resolution for 2012 is to drive 'his new baby' as much as possible.  Once Easter arrives I'm sure there will be plenty of Marcos-related blog posts.
