Can anyone explain how to remove pictures from the Picassa web album so that I can continue to post newer photos...

  1. Delete albums and photos You can easily delete individual photos or entire online albums:

    Deleting entire albums
1.From the My Photos page, click the album you'd like to delete.
    2.Click Actions > Delete album.
3.Click OK to confirm and delete.
    Deleting individual photos.
To delete multiple photos at once:

    1.Click Organize.
2.Select the photos you'd like to delete. To select multiple photos, hold the Ctrl key while selecting photos.
    3.Click the Delete button.
4.Click OK to confirm and delete.
    To delete an individual photo:

1.Click Actions > Delete this photo.
2.Click OK to confirm and delete.

I don't know if this is what you are looking for. I know how frustrating this can be. Let me know...Balisha

  2. Thank you! A proper post should follow shortly! Jx

  3. I've been having problems too but when I deleted some photos it removed them from my my posts as well which was frustrating. I did manage to put them back but then I was back to square one again.

  4. I've had the same problem this week, I think a few people have. As far as I can see, if you remove the photos from your Picassa album, it will also remove the photo from your blog post. I've got round the problem by resizing my photos for all new blog posts. If you're using google+, photos up to 2048 X 2048 pixels don't count towards your free storage, otherwise the maximum size is 800 X 800 pixels which won't count. Hope this helps.

    1. How do you reduce the photo's size. I'm normally not bad with techie stuff but my mind has gone blank?

    2. You need to download a bit of software.
I use PhotoScape. It is quite FREE and easy to use. It has many feature but the only bit you need is 'resize'. All my blog pictures are 650 x 650 which fits the column width like yours. I've been blogging for over five years now and because I use these small picture sizes I have not even reached 50% in Picasa.
      Good luck.....Bernard

  5. Jan, Just a few things I've learned while trying to keep up with posting pictures. If you delete pictures from Picassa you also remove them permanently from your blog. I have yet to find a way to put them back on without having the post put back to the top and I think that would be annoying for my readers. I post my pictures and later go back an resize to 800 x 800. This has probably been explained by someone far more competent than I. Good Luck! I have sadly deleted several photos from posts. I really don't think that is what you want to do.

  6. I'm glad to know that posting pictures on Picasa can be a problem. I had been thinking about going on one of the photo sites.

  7. I've been on 98.4% for ages, I've removed all photos that aren't on my blog and started an ongoing process of reducing the size of the photos left on the blog. You can do this in the export box on your off-line picasa, removing the larger photo and putting the new one in its place. In the export box you click on reduce size and set to 480 pixels this will reduced the size (volume) of your photos - just alter the size in the usual way on your blog. Hope this helps:)

  8. There is another way which hasn't been mentioned here. Pay Google the storage fee and continue as normal with Picasa. It's only about £4 per year. Even me as tight as I am can afford that. I am in my second year of paying and no problems so far. Saying that, I will look into resizing, just in case they decide to increase the fee.
